For example, horses each eat about 250 pounds of grain per month, 12.5 bales of hay per month and use 7 bags of shavings per month. Their feet require regular care every 8 weeks that costs between $40-$110 per horse, depending on if they need shoes or not. Veterinary care is obtained on an as need basis and typically they are healthy; however if they get sick, the cost can easily be in excess of $100. Donations in ANY amount help so our funds can help the animal. All donations are tax deductible.
