Camp Details

A summer experience in Aurora, Ohio for children ages 6-13 who love animals and the outdoors and wish to participate in the day-to-day life of the Hidden Pastures Farm.
Every week is a new adventure!
Every day we pick one animal, learn about it, take care of it and make a craft.
Camp is mostly outdoors and in the covered barn, rain or shine!

Eggsplorers: ages 6-8
Jolly Ranchers: ages 9-13

We begin the day playing games while waiting for everyone to arrive and then split into two groups of older and younger kids. The groups head out to do the daily farm task of feeding, watering and checking on the animals. We then have a new subject that is the focus of each day. We talk for those kids who are auditory learners, show for those that are visual, and perform a related activity for the many who learn best through hands on exploration. Lunches involve both groups joining together again.

A typical day:
9 am - Arrive at camp and check in; free play time
9:30am - Farmstead time where we discuss the new weekly theme
9:45 am - Morning chores (animal feeding, stall cleaning, barn sweeping, egg collection, gardening and more)
10:40am - Game time or arts and crafts
11:00am - Practice saddling the horse and horse rides
11:30 - Wash hands
11:40 am - Lunch time
12:00pm - Pick up
